She's pretty incredible. I got to hear her read once at San Quentin State Prison in northern California--I teach a creative writing class there and she came in a few years ago to read from one of her books. It was really neat; she sat in the prison cafeteria and read to a big group of guys.
Bird by Bird is a good one!
